Hilarious Fall Games
People keep saying the summer is over, but our 90 degree weather begs to differ. Yesterday it was so muggy I thought I was in the deep south in the middle of summer.
That doesn’t mean we’re not full force into planning fall party ideas – fall festivals, fall carnivals, and really just anything to celebrate fall and knock things off our fall bucket list!
What these fall Party games are good for
We’ve included all sorts of different fall party games in this list so you can choose what best fits your occasion! Use them for fall festivals, fall carnivals, fall girls nights, fall game nights, and more! If you want something for Halloween, try out these Halloween party games instead!
Minute to Win It Fall games
All of the fall games in this section are minute to win It games and depending on the number of people playing, there are different ways you can play them. They’re perfect for big groups and if you’re looking for fall family games!
- Individual vs clock – one person plays each game and tries to complete the game in under a minute. Or one person plays as many games as they can beat before you switch to another player!
- Group games – pick two players from the group from each game and they’ll compete against each other head to head. Rotate through pairs of people and the winners of each earn points toward the totals.
- Team vs. team – split into teams and one person from each team plays each game, competing head to head against the other teams!
Apples Away
Stack five apples on top of each other. First player to get all five apples stacked and remove their hands (and apples stand for at least three seconds) from the apples wins.
A Bit Corny
Balance six candy corn on a Popsicle stick held in your mouth. Start with just the popsicle stick in the mouth and one by one add the candy corn to the stick. The first player to get all six on the stick wins.
Candy Rattle
Fill one two-liter soda bottle with candy corn then attach to another empty two-liter soda bottle with duct tape connecting the two together.
Players have to transfer all candy corn from one side of the connected soda bottles to the other in one minute to win.
Mummy Wrap
This game can be played either individually or in teams of two (better in teams of toe). If playing individually, give everyone a stack of toilet paper rolls and when the timer starts, they must try to wrap themselves up with the toilet paper from head to toe.
If playing in teams, the goal is the same but one player must wrap up the other player from head to toe to win. This is also one of our most popular Halloween games!
Card Ninja
Players must toss playing cards one at at a time like a ninja would throw a star (or frisbee) and try to knock the colored cups off the edge of a table. First player to knock one off wins.
Important Note
These games are all written with families in mind so the challenges should be doable by any age. If they seem too hard or too easy, adjust the game slightly by making it a little easier or harder – you’re the only one who knows the people playing!
Defying Gravity
Give each player three orange balloons and a large space. To play, players must hit all three balloons in the air when the timer starts and keep them up for the entire minute.
If no one can keep them up for a minute, whoever can keep them up longest wins.
Face the Cookie
Using only your face muscles, move an orange Halloween cookie from your forehead to your mouth. If the cookie falls, get a new cookie and try again.
Elephant March
Place five plastic cups spread out on the ground then place an apple on top of each. Place a tennis ball in the bottom of each pair of panty hose. If you’re doing this with kids, you can also use a plastic pumpkin to make it easier.
To play, player must put the open side of the panty hose on their head and using only their head, switch the tennis ball to try and knock the apple off the cup WITHOUT knocking the cup over.
If the cup gets knocked over, they must pick it back up and place the apple back on top and start again. First player to knock off all of their apples wins.
Hut, Hut, Hoop
Bend over and hike toilet paper rolls through a hoop 15 feet away. Make a certain number of rolls through the hoop within the minute. If you want to go the football route, you can try any of these football party games too!
Paper Dragon
Players must unspool two rolls of party streamers using only their hands and arms. First player to unroll both rolls of streamers wins.
Separation Anxiety
Players must separate 50 multicolored candies (M&Ms, Skittles, etc.) into specific cups for each color, moving one candy at a time. First player to sort all 50 candies wins.
Haunted Hay Ride
Players must sit on bath mats (or towels) and use an inchworm technique to make their way around an obstacle course. First player to finish (if you have a large area) wins or if you have a small area and only one player can go at once, fastest player to finish wins.
Movin’ On Up
Give player a stack of 39 orange cups with one black cup on the bottom. Moving one cup at a time, player must move the black cup from bottom to the top. First player to get black cup all the way to the top wins.
Pumpkin Tennis
Players must volley a piece of crumpled up paper from one side of the room to the other to drop the paper in a plastic pumpkin. Players must volley the paper back and forth, alternating hits between teammates.
Split the Uprights
Players must flick triangle paper footballs between two towers of plastic cups into a basket. First player to make one in a basket wins (or do the most in a minute).
Stack Attack
Players must stack 36 plastic cups into a perfect triangle and once done, put the cups back into one stack.
Too easy for your group? Blindfold your players.

Leaves and Letters
In this fun leaves and letters game, teams compete against one another to try and find letters written on plastic leaves. Once they find all of the letters in their bucket, they have to use those letters to unscramble a fall themed word!
There’s a little more to it including some rock, paper, scissors action to get access to the buckets of leaves but it’s really fun and easy!
Pumpkin Roll
Nope, we’re not talking about the delicious pumpkin cream cheese rolls that show up around this time every year – we’re talking about a super fun game that incorporates rolling a pumpkin to win prizes!
Players roll a pumpkin and try to get it to land inside of a taped out game board to win prizes! It’s super simple and could be adapted for pretty much any fall party! You can get all the pumpkin roll game rules here.
Pumpkin Hunt
See who can find pumpkins to win a prize in this fun game! With three different options for playing with different ages, this pumpkin hunt is always a huge hit!
