These cute DIY holiday gifts are the perfect way to wish someone a sweet holiday! Just print out the free printable tag, fill a container with treats, and secure with some festive ribbon. It’s one easy DIY gift idea!
My son started at a new preschool this year and unlike his last preschool, this one is super involved. There’s petting zoos and Christmas programs and other kids that bring in gifts for all the other kids every holiday. I learned this the hard way when my son was the only one who didn’t bring little Halloween goodie bags for all of the other kids.
That wasn’t going to happen again for Christmas.
Sweet Holidays DIY Gift Idea
For Christmas this year, I made up these cute little “Hope your holidays are sweet,” jars for his class. I let him choose the candy that he wanted to put in them – gummy bears, sour gummy balls, etc. – and then even let him help fill them. Pretty sure half the candy never made it to the jars, but we had a great time and that’s all that matters right?
Instead of using something glass mason jars, I found these fun clear containers with pull tab lids from Paper Mart. The plastic is perfect for kids and the pull tab lids are way more fun than just unscrewing the lid on a jar. I made up one for my son, and he loved pulling the tab up – just make sure to supervise so they don’t cut themselves or something stupid on the tab once it’s been pulled.
I created these free printable gift tags to go on the jars, punched them each with two holes at the top, then threaded some of my favorite ribbon from Paper Mart through to tie the tags to the jars. I used this gold and white ribbon to contrast with the red and green tags, but Paper Mart has a huge selection of holiday ribbon that you could use as well if you want to stick with more traditional colors.
I think they turned out really cute and best of all, my son’s class loved them! I’m planning to give them to our neighbors as well with some homemade truffles instead of store bought candy. Who doesn’t love treats at Christmas time?

I recommend printing on white card stock for the best durability on the tags, but you can also just print on regular paper.
