Recipe for Non-Alcoholic Blue Punch
When you’re planning a party menu, don’t forget about the drinks! A good themed drink, or really just good signature drink, can really finish off a menu perfectly.
I personally love a good punch recipe for when you’re having a party with lots of people and making something like this strawberry mocktail just isn’t feasible. That’s why I’ve been sharing a bunch of new punch recipes!
I shared this pink punch yesterday (and another pinkish party punch the day before that) so today of course it’s time for a blue punch recipe!
This blue punch is perfect if you’re looking for baby boy shower ideas. Plan a few baby shower games and whip up some of your favorite appetizers to pair it with and you’re all set to be the host with the most!
But don’t think it’s just for baby showers! This works great for under the sea parties, ocean parties, shark parties, Tiffany blue bridal showers, and more! Anytime you are using blue to decorate, this blue drink works great!
Why you’ll love this Blue Fruit Punch
- A drink for everyone – blue baby shower punch is non-alcoholic so it’s kid-friendly, safe for momma-to-be, and adults love it just as much as the kids do.
- Versatile – it’s one of my favorite drinks for a boy baby shower but it just as easily works for pool parties, backyard BBQs, birthday parties, and as a blue drink for a gender reveal party.
- Easy to make – It comes together in minutes using budget-friendly simple ingredients and great way to serve your guests a delicious blue punch drink they won’t soon forget!
Ingredients in This Blue Punch Drink
Ingredient Notes
- Blue Hawaiian Punch – either berry blue typhoon or polar blast. Both are blue and either will work. I personally prefer the taste of polar blast but use what you can find!
- Sprite – this adds the fizz! Swap it with 7-Up if you want but don’t use Starry!
- Vanilla ice cream – this is an optional addition, but adding ice cream gives it extra body and gives it the flavor of a creamsicle. It also makes for such a pretty addition, especially if you’re using this for a baby shower!
How to Make Blue punch for baby shower
One of the reasons I love making punches, especially when you’re serving a crowd, is how simple they are! It’s literally just mixing everything together and adding ice cream!
- Mix the blue Hawaiian punch, Sprite, and juices together in a large punch bowl or pitcher.
Note!
You can stop here if you want if you really want the blue color to shine through. The punch tastes great just like this, but I prefer to add the ice cream in the next step! But look how pretty it is without the ice cream – perfect for a shark party or something where you want the punch to resemble the ocean. It’d be perfect next to this beach cake!
- Add scoops of ice cream on the top of the blue punch. No need to stir – they’ll melt in and incorporate into the punch on their own!
- Top the blue baby shower punch with food safe duckies, lemon slices, or really whatever you think will make it look more fun!
- Serve immediately right out of the punch bowl! This really does make a fun drink option to put right next to your diaper cake and baby shower charcuterie board!
Tip!
If you’re serving a smaller group of people, you can also serve the punch individually into glasses and then just put a scoop of ice cream on stop of each, kind of like a root beer float!
Expert Tips
Increase the amount for larger parties. This recipe for blue punch makes about a gallon. Increase the ingredients to fill larger punch bowls when serving large parties.
Make it without ice cream. Add ice cubes to the glasses before pouring out the punch to keep the blue Hawaiian party punch cold.
Have fun with garnishes. Lemon slices, orange slices, pineapple chunks, cherries, strawberries, you name it!
Change the color to suit the occasion. Blue is just one color of Hawaiian punch, so depending on what the occasion is, make this drink using red for Valentine’s Day or Christmas, green for St. Patrick’s Day, or Watermelon for a girl’s baby shower.
Recipe FAQs
Does it matter what Blue Hawaiian Punch I use?
You can use either variation of Blue Hawaiian Punch as long as the color is blue! We’ve tried both and are both are tasty!
Can I make this blue punch in advance?
Since this drink comes together so quickly, I highly recommend you make it just before serving. Otherwise, the carbonation will dissipate and the ice cream will melt. You can combine the blue punch and pineapple juice if you’d like and then keep that in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.
Is this good leftover?
Store leftovers of this blue punch in the fridge for up to three days. It’ll be tasty but not quite the same because the ice cream will have totally melted into the punch. Feel free to add a fresh scoop of ice cream when you pour yourself a glass of punch from the leftovers!
