These fun baby animal baby shower games are a super simple way to add some fun to any baby shower whether it’s animal themed or not! The free printable games will test your guests knowledge of baby animals all while celebrating the mom to be!
Fun Baby Animal Name Games
I played a variation of these baby animal games at a baby shower a few years back and couldn’t believe how many I couldn’t come up with it! So I thought it’d be fun to come up with my own versions!
This easy game focuses on remembering names, but thankfully not your kids because parents and grandparents alike know that keeping the names of their babies straight is a near-impossible task. Instead, it has party guests trying to match the names of baby animals to their animal mamas.
With two different versions of baby animal name games, this game idea is the perfect addition to a baby shower. And both baby shower games are fun to play but challenging enough to keep it interesting.
This fun game is great to play on it’s own or with other free baby shower games such as this baby shower bingo or baby shower trivia. It also works great with many baby shower themes whether they are baby shower themes for boys or baby shower ideas for girls!
Why you’ll love these Games
- Ready to go – all you have to do is download the free digital files then print and play.
- Works with any theme – you don’t have to be throwing a jungle or animal-themed shower for this to work. As long as there is a baby involved it works!
- Gender-neutral – this great game is designed to work for a girl baby shower or boy baby shower. Perfect for those moms who haven’t found out the gender.
Two Printable Baby Animal Games
This free printable baby shower game comes in two different versions of the game. Both versions are designed to be gender neutral but each game tests knowledge of baby animals in a slightly different way!
Game 1 – Baby Animal Matching
The first version provides a list of animals and a column of the various baby animal names to match to its proper name.
This is the easier version, but still challenging and fun! And you’ll be surprised how many of these baby animals your guests can’t come up with. These game sheets are pretty teal with white center to make it easy to write.
Game 2 – Name the Baby Animal
The second version simply provides a list of animals and has the player fill in the names of the babies on their own. This version is a bit more challenging but my personal favorite because it stretches people’s brains a bit!
And it’s hilarious to see what kind of baby animal names people come up with when they’re not provided for them!
Where are the answers?
Along with the two variations of the game, you will also be provided with an answer sheet with the downloadable printable at the end of this post. No need to google each answer to see who wins.
How to Play
Playing these baby shower game is really simple. Start by printing out one copy per person along with the answer sheet.
Want to save on ink?
If you’re playing the second (more challenging version of this game), you could print out one copy of the game and just give everyone a blank piece of paper. Then when you’re ready to play, have everyone number the paper. Then just name the animal and have people write down what they think the baby name is. This will save you from having to print out full copies for everyone – not as cute but more budget friendly.
Once you’ve printed out the baby animal games, give each guest their own copy. Set a timer for five minutes.
Then to play, guests either have to match the baby animals to the right name or they have to fill in what they think it is (for the second version of the game).
Make sure everyone knows both games have to be played without using any outside resources such as a phone. If they don’t know it have them leave it blank. Prizes are involved so no cheating allowed!
How to Win These Baby Shower Games
Once everyone has filled out their game sheets, go over the answers together! The person who gets the most correct wins a fun prize!
In the case of a tie you can opt to do a tie breaker question or share the prize. I’ve included a few tie breaker questions that would be perfect below!
Tiebreaker Questions
Here are two questions that work great as tie breakers because no one is going to get these spot on but someone will be closest!
- Baby Jane, the oldest pig in captivity ever, died on what day? (September 10th)
- The longest Burmese python ever was named Baby. How long was she? (18 feet 10 inch, 5.74M)
- The largest diaper cake ever used how many diapers? (50,112)
Baby Animal Prize Ideas
Make sure to have a fun themed prize for the winner of these baby animal games! I’ve included a handful of ideas below but if you don’t like any of these or want something more universal, gift cards or treats are always a good choice!
