Just like in the TV show the Price is Right, this fun price is right baby shower game will test your knowledge on the prices of common baby shower gifts! This simple baby shower game is free to print and easy for everyone to play – as long as you can write down prices, you can win!
Price is Right Baby Shower Game
I’m kind of obsessed with game show games so any excuse to play one and I’m in! I mean who doesn’t love to watch The Price is Right? And this fun price is right game is inspired by the concept of the TV show but not necessarily inspired by any particular game on the show!
I’ve shared plenty of other baby shower games including tons of printable baby shower games but this one is probably one of my favorites just because of the everyone can guess, everyone can win element!
It’s simple to play – guests just have to try to guess the prices of common baby shower gifts and items. Whoever gets the closest wins!
Even people who hate baby shower games will enjoy this one and if they don’t, well that’s on them! If someone really doesn’t want to play, you could also just have these baby shower predictions cards out that they can fill out while everyone plays and has a great time!
How to Setup the Game
While this one takes a little bit more setup than something like this baby shower emoji game, it’s still simple!
1 – Download and Print the Game
Download the price is right printable at the bottom of the this post and then print it out. You can print it out in color to really enhance the adorable design on it or go with black and white.
You’ll need one printable for each person playing or you can skip the printable if you really want and just have people write down their guesses on a piece of paper numbered 1-10!
Design Options!
There are three different design options included in the PDF that you can choose from. One is pink and obviously more girly, one is teal and a little more on the boy side, and one is florals that could be used for pretty much any baby shower!
2 – Buy the Price is Right Items
Start by figuring out what you want to buy or use for the items people will be pricing. I recommend doing items that are pretty universal and will be actually guessable. It’s not fun if no one has any clue.
I also recommend buying items for this game that you can gift to the mom to be (if you want) afterwards as your baby shower gift.
Keep It Inexpensive
If you’d prefer to not purchase all of the items on the list, you could easily just find things around your house that work as well and match the price is right thing. Just make sure they are things still being sold in stores so that you can get the actual prices. You could even just use packages/boxes of things like an empty box of diapers, an empty box of wipes, a shoe box, etc. As long as you can describe it, show it, and get a price – it works! Or you could always do pictures of things too!
Here are some examples of things that might work for all of the items on the pricing list. I tried to keep them as generic as possible so that you can choose what works best for the mom to be and your situtation.
- Diapers – you could pick any size, any amount, any brand of diapers. Or even cloth diapers!
- Bath supplies – bathtub, bath toys, (something cute to fit one of these boy baby shower themes would be perfect) bubble bath, a bath rinser cup (we love this one), etc.
- Towels – hooded towels, hand towels, baby towels, whatever works. This would be another one that’d be easy to tie to one of these girl baby shower themes!
- Activity mat – this could be an actual bouncer, an activity mat, a learning mat, or even some sort of fun rug or thing with letters or numbers.
- Bottles – this could be anything related to bottles. Actual bottles, a bottle warmer, a bottle cleaner, bottle drying rack (this one is SO cute), bottle cleaning supplies, etc.
- Swaddle – swaddling blankets, a velcro swaddle, swaddling jammies, wrap around swaddle, etc.
- Clothes – well the possibility is endless here, but I would keep it to one thing like a pack of baby onesies or a pack of socks or something that won’t have people adding up a bunch of different items together.
- Toys – possibilities are also endless here but I would again do one specific thing or pack of things (like baby blocks or balls)
- Food – some sort of baby food whether it’s actual baby food, baby snacks, formula, or really anything they’ll eventually eat. If the baby isn’t even born yet and you’re planning to gift this to new mom, make sure it won’t expire before baby can actually eat!
- Book – one book, a pack of books, whatever. If you need some good ideas, these are my favorite baby shower books.
Important Note!
Make sure that you are buying the items all at the same place or that you are writing down where you purchased the items and where the prices are coming from. There’s actually a huge difference between buying something like a book on Amazon and buying a book at Target. I recommend buying things in store to keep things as fair as possible because prices can be all over the map online!
3 – Write Down Your Prices
I’ve had a number of people ask me for the “answer sheet” to this game. But there’s not an answer sheet provided because the prices are going to be what you make of it.
If you buy a box of 24 diapers to use for your game, that’s going to be totally different than if someone buys a small pack of cloth diapers or a Costco size pack of diapers.
As you purchase your items (or choose and print pictures of your items), write down the price, a description of the item, and where you bought it (if you’re buying them in different places).
Make your own answer key based on the items you are using for the game. And make sure you write them down when you buy the items (or price it out), not a month later when they go on sale, etc.
How To Play Price Is Right
This game is super simple as long as everyone knows the rules!
Pass out a printable game and a pen to everyone and then before they fill in the prices explain that you’ll be showing them specific items for each item on the list and that they need to guess an exact price.
Tip!
Make sure that everyone knows you win with the most points but that if there’s a tie, the total amount actually matters. This may impact their decisions and guessing so just make sure they have all of the information before they start making guesses!
Then start the game by showing your first item (diapers), giving everyone the description of the item, and having people guess their price.
Once everyone has written down their prices, give them the correct amount for the diapers and whoever is the closest to the price without going over, wins a point.
Continue going through each of the items having baby shower guests guess the amounts then giving out points for the closest for each item.
How to Win
Once you’ve gone through all of the items, the person who has scored the most points total wins!
In the event of a tie, have everyone total up all of their items (and you should have the total before the party). Whoever is the closest to the total without going over wins the game!
Alternate Option!
Instead of giving out points for each item, you could also just do a small individual winner for each line item on the game! So whoever gets closest to diapers wins a small baby shower favor (with one of these baby shower tags). The person who guesses the bath supplies wins one too. Just keep the baby shower prizes small and this could be a fun way to do this too!
It’d be even more fun if you could do something related to the line item. Like unicorn poop for the diapers or bubble bath for women for the bath supplies.
Tips
Make sure that everyone is very aware of the rules ahead of time, especially the “without going over” rule. You don’t want people complaining that they were the closest if they go over and are out for the point.
Mix and match actual items you buy (the ones the mom to be will love) with items from around your house and pictures of items to save on the costs. If you’re up for buying all of the things as a gift to mom, great but mixing and matching definitely helps with the budget!
Make sure people know they can’t use phones or help to get prices. This isn’t a game seeing who can Google the fastest, it’s a game of who can guess things off the top of their heads!
