Last fall my family was invited to attend the Social Media on the Sand (aka #BeachesMoms) conference at the Beaches Negril Resort & Spa in Negril, Jamaica. While I personally preferred the beach at Beaches Turks & Caicos, we still had a fantastic time during our trip to Jamaica.
If you’re looking for an all-inclusive vacation that’s designed for families, no one does it better than Beaches Resorts. These are just nine of the reasons I think your family will love Beaches Negril, I know we did!
Nine Reasons to Love Beaches Negril
1 Payment at Beaches Negril
Literally everything is included. You pay before you go and never have to get out your wallet again. Drinks, food, activities, lodging – you name it, and it’s included.
If you need tips for the other stuff to pack, start with this beach vacation packing list!
The only things that aren’t included are spa treatments and any shopping you want to do. And even though it’s not included, I definitely recommended checking out the Red Lane Spa – just be prepared, Jamaicans are a little more touchy feely than the masseuses I’m used to in the US.
2 Two-hundred Foot Waterslides at Beaches Negril
Two waterslides, a lazy river, a plunge pool, a huge splash area, and more make up the Pirate Island Waterpark that’s included with your stay at Beaches Negril. The waterpark is one of my favorite things to do at Beaches Turks & Caicos.
We spent our last night speeding down the slides, floating around the river, and getting soaked in the splash area. It was one of a million times during our visit that I really wish we’d brought our son with us instead of using it as 10th anniversary celebration trip. After you’re done at the waterpark, walk a few feet and rinse off in the ocean, just steps away.
3 Pools at Beaches Negril
There are three huge pools at Beaches Negril, not including the on-site waterpark. Two of those pools have swim-up bars where you can order a drink and literally drink it while you’re sitting on a stool in the pool. Talk about relaxation. Pretty sure we spent more than half of our trip in a pool somewhere, and the other half – eating.
4 Person Rooms at Beaches Negril
Beaches Negril has a ton of different room options. We stayed in a standard room with two double beds that slept four, but they also offer options for king-sized beds, multiple bedroom suites, and even a huge three bedroom family suite with a grand living area.
The bed was comfortable, the room fairly spacious, and our location was right near the party! You could bring your entire family and have a little mini family reunion!
You can learn more about the accommodation options here. And if you have little kids who like to sleep at night, I recommend requesting a room that’s far from the main check-in building. The bar and pool outside our room were jammin’ until about midnight each night, and we could hear every little jam.
5 Program Options in the Beaches Negril Kids Club
While we didn’t actually have our son with us on our trip, I’ve heard incredible things about the Beaches Negril Kids Club. They offer five different programs grouped by age level (infants, 3-5 year olds, pre-teens, and teens) as well as the option to have an individual one-on-one Beaches buddy for children with special needs.
The programming includes beach time, visits with Sesame Street Characters, fun, games, and more! I know my son would love it!
6 Bars Serving Free Drinks at Beaches Negril
I love a place that serves a good non-alcoholic mocktail or frozen drink. Since Beaches Negril caters to families, they have an entire menu full of juices, mocktails, and frozen drink that’s designed for kids. Or for adults like me who don’t drink alcohol. After this is the good stuff. My favorite was the Jungle Juice, kind of like a fruit punch.
7 Miles of Beach at Beaches Negril
Seven miles of beautiful white sand beach that’s perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or trying out any of the all-included adventures Beaches offers. We spent many hours just laying on the beach, wading in the water, and trying to get the best jumping pictures possible.
8+ Water Sports and Activities at Beaches Negril
One of our favorite things to do at Beaches Turks & Caicos was sailing out on the ocean. Beaches Negril offers the same sailing plus pretty much every water sport imaginable – paddle boarding, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, wakeboarding, kayaking, and so on.
And best of all, all of the water sports, including motorized ones, are included. That’s pretty unheard of for all-inclusive resorts I’ve visited in the past!
And if water isn’t your thing, Beaches Negril has plenty of land activities too from mini golf to hammocking to sand volleyball. You could lay on the beach all day, eat a delicious dinner, then finish it off with a drink with friends.
Or get off site with a reading roadtrip, one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had on vacation!
9 Speciality Restaurants at Beaches Negril
Not only does Beaches Negril has nine speciality restaurants that are all-included, it has nine speciality restaurants that serve good food. From the Japanese steakhouse (make reservations!) to the made to order pizza at Dino’s, there’s food for every age, every food palate, and every craving.
When you arrive at Beaches Negril, make sure to grab a schedule to know when things are open. And don’t miss out on the crepes, ice cream, and other treats at Cafe de Paris. It was my favorite!
Beaches Negril has similar options to the restaurants at Beaches at Turks and Caicos but not quite as many options.
Have you ever been to Beaches Negril or Beaches Turks & Caicos? Have questions? Leave comments and I’ll do my best to answer based on our experience!
**I was invited to the Social Media on the Sand Conference, an exclusive invite only conference in partnership with Beaches Resorts. As part of the conference, I received a discounted stay at Beaches Negril for my family and me.
