I love a good dessert dip! I’ve shared a ton already – brownie dip, caramel apple dip, cream cheese fruit dip just to name a few.
And with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share one more – a cheesecake dip, cherry cheesecake dip to be exact.
This one would be a good addition to any other Valentine’s Day desserts you may already have planned. If you need some ideas, I personally think it’d be great served alongside these Valentine’s Day rice krispy treats, these Valentine’s day pretzels, and these layered Jello desserts.
They’re all pretty, colorful, and match this dip perfectly!
If you like cherry pie, you’re going to love this dip. If you like cherry cheesecake, you’ll love this dip. And if you just like creamy dips, you’ll love this dip!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Easy – with just five ingredients to mix together, this recipe really couldn’t be much easier. You’re just mixing a couple of things to get a creamy base that’s sweetened with powdered sugar then topping it all with cherry pie topping!
- Versatile – while I’m using this as a Valentine’s Day dessert dip, it really could work for any time of year. Make it a 4th of July dip, Christmas dip, or even just a yummy summer dip!
- Creamy – the cream cheese, whipped cream, and pudding mix make this the ultimate creamy dessert dip. It’s smooth, fluffy, and just delicious.

Ingredient Notes
- Cheesecake pudding mix – cheesecake pudding mix is the best in this but if you can’t find that, you could use vanilla pudding mix instead. Or even chocolate, it’ll just totally change the flavor. But maybe that’s a fun variation to try for next time!
- Whipped cream cheese – I highly recommend whipped cream cheese in this but if you can’t get it, you can also use softened cream cheese instead. Just make sure it’s soft or you’ll end up with all sorts of lumps in your dip, which is not delicious.
- Heavy cream – heavy cream is best in this but if you can’t find it for some reason, you can use whole milk as well. The dip just won’t be quite as thick and creamy.
How to Make cherry cheesecake dip
You ready to see how simple this is to make? It’s literally just three steps and three easy steps at that!
Start by whisking the heavy cream and pudding together until it is thickened. You can either do this by hand or I like to do it with a hand mixer just to get that really nice thick mixture.
Next, add the cream cheese and powdered sugar to the cream mixture and mix until completely combined into a very thick, creamy dip. You can again do this by hand or with a beater on low.
Put the dip into a serving dish of your choice – I prefer to do something that’s pretty shallow but large so the cherry pie filling on top has space to spread out. Spread it out evenly in the dish.
Then pour the cherry pie filling on top, making sure to spread it around so all of the creamy layer is topped with pie filling.
You can sprinkle some graham cracker crumbs on top like I did in my TikTok video or just leave it plain.
Serve with graham crackers for a true cheesecake dip flavor or with your favorite cookies, wafers, or even fruit.
Expert Tips
Mix it up for different holidays by changing the flavor of the pudding mix and the pie filling. Another great combination would be chocolate pudding with the cherry, it’d taste kind of like these chocolate cherry cookies.
Double the recipe easily by using the entire package of pudding mix, the entire package of cream cheese, and the entire can of pie filling! Just know you’ll get a lot of dip!
Store in refrigerator for up to two days in an airtight container. This does not freeze well.
Use a shallow dish for serving that has a lot of surface area. This will make it so the cherry pie filling doesn’t all just pool on top of the dip and people can actually get some of the creamy layer underneath when they dip!
Recipe FAQs
Can you make cherry cheesecake dip with condensed milk?
I do not recommend using condensed milk in place of the whipped cream because it’ll make the dip extremely sweet. If you have condensed milk to use, I’d try something like this Snickers poke cake instead.
Can you make cherry cheesecake dip ahead of time?
If you’d like to make this dip ahead of time, I recommend making the creamy part of the dip and refrigerating then adding the cherry pie filling on top last minute before serving.
What goes well with cherry cheesecake dip?
This dip is great with graham crackers, Vanilla wafers, shortbread cookies, or even fresh fruit.
