These free printable St. Patrick’s Day coloring pages will have you adding color to everything from leprechauns to gold, March calendars to the end of a rainbow. There’s a full set of free coloring sheets, perfect whether you want something a bit more advanced for older kids or more basic for a toddler!
Both of my boys are really into coloring right now.
One of them colors inside the lines and the other one just color scribbles and calls it everything he colors a treasure map.
I made these St. Patrick’s Day free coloring pages diverse enough that all types of coloring fanatics would enjoy them – in the line artists and out of the box ones.
I love coloring pages perfectly because they help teach not only art skills but also focus, concentration, and hand coordination. Plus, they can calm kids and adults (hello adult coloring books) down when nerves and anxiety are present.
These are a fun way to celebrate the March holiday whether you’re going to do anything else (like this St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt) or not. And a fun activity to do with your entire family for your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations!
While we’re on spring break for St. Patrick’s Day this year, you could easily pair these with St. Patrick’s Day bingo, this St. Patrick’s Day word search PDF, and a St. Patrick’s Day i-Spy for some classroom fun, at home family fun, or even kids party activities!
Free Leprechaun Coloring Pages
There are eight different printable coloring sheets included in this St. Patrick’s Day pack.
- Happy St. Patrick’s Day page
- Leprechaun (so kids can color their own leprechaun!)
- March 17th calendar coloring sheet
- Items that represent Irish luck and Irish folklore (shoes, clovers, etc.)
- Bag of gold (filled with lots of gold coins I’m sure)
- Leprechaun hat you might wear on St. Patricks Day
- Sneaky leprechaun shoe
- A pot of gold coins at the end of a rainbow
I show most of them in the images on these pages but if there’s anything missing, you can see them all when you download the pages at the bottom of this post.
I tried to include most typical Irish or St. Patrick’s Day icons – everything from a four leaf clover to gold coins to of course leprechauns themselves. There are also a plethora of rainbows, calendars, and good luck charms!
I’d take a look at the different coloring pages and either print out a couple of each page so people can choose or just print out all the same few pages if you find ones that would be a better difficulty for whoever will be coloring them.
There are definitely some that are a bit more advanced (like the rainbow) and some that are a bit more basic that my toddler would like (thinking the leprechaun hat).
Just pick and choose and print whatever works best for you!
Tip!
Kids of all ages really like pots of gold and rainbow coloring pages. There’s just something about a fun coloring page that you can use all of the colors on that makes them so happy. So make sure to print out plenty of the end of the rainbow sheets! I personally like the printable leprechaun coloring page, but kids like rainbows.
What Materials to Color With
Each of the coloring pages is outlined in deep black, making them perfect for filling in with whatever coloring materials you want.
We’ve used crayons, coloring pencils, and markers (as shown in this post). You could also use paint or if you laminate these, even use dry erase markers if you want to reuse them again.
If you are coloring with little kids, just make sure whatever you use is always washable. I can promise that as much as they want their colorful rainbow to stay on these printable sheets, they somehow always go off the top of the page (or side).
There’s really not much else to it. Just download the free printable coloring pages, print, and start coloring!
Expert Tips
Pick out the designs you think will be the most popular and print out a couple of those because it’s inevitable that everyone will want to color those ones. The pot of gold with a rainbow would be one I could seeing the most popular because who doesn’t like to color a good rainbow!
Combine these with other St. Patrick’s Day printables to make a whole St. Patrick’s Day activity pack for kids to enjoy. You could use them as a filler between these St. Patrick’s Day games or as something to start out your festivities. Or even something to do while kids listen to you read a book.
Provide a plethora of art materials for coloring. Some people like coloring with colored pencils, others with markers. And still others with crayons. If you have them and are comfortable with people using them, provide them as an option so people can get creative.
