Halloween Pumpkin Punch
A few weeks ago we tested out a whole bunch of different drinks and punches. One of them was this more adult-friendly vampire kiss drink and another one was this jack-o-lantern punch!
We wanted to give people something else to serve other than this zombie Halloween punch just because I know people like to mix things up (although that zombie punch is delicious). Plus, pumpkins go with pretty much every halloween party theme (more than zombies).
If you’re looking for something that tastes like pumpkin, this isn’t it. (I recommend this pumpkin juice instead) but if you’re looking for something fun, festive, and delicious – this jack-o-lantern punch is a great option!
And when you serve it in pumpkin glasses or add pumpkin faces to them with permanent marker, well you’ll see why we call it a pumpkin punch!
Why you’ll love this
- Creamsicle flavor – the combo of everything together with a little vanilla ice cream on top tastes just like an orange creamsicle. It’s so good!
- Two variations – you can make this either with or without ice cream depending on how you’re serving it, and it’s fun either way!
- Fast – this takes about a minute to make so it’s perfect to throw together last-minute or you can make most of it ahead of time and just add the Sprite at the end!
Ingredients
Ingredient Notes
- Orange jello – I’ve only tried this with the regular orange Jello, not the sugar-free version. I personally don’t do a lot of sugar-free products, so I recommend the regular!
- Frozen limeade – make sure it’s limeade, not lemonade! It actually makes a pretty good difference!
- Sprite – I prefer Sprite in this but you could also make it with 7-Up. I personally don’t love Starry but if that’s all you have, you could probably make that work!
- Water – you’ll need boiling and cold water for this recipe – boiling to dissolve the jello and cold to turn it into a drink!
Bonus Ingredient
I didn’t put it in the ingredient shot because technically it’s not required, but I highly recommend adding scoops of vanilla ice cream to this! It gives it a really creamy, creamsicle flavor, that’s absolutely delicious. But like I said before, it is optional and the pumpkin punch is good without it too!
How to make this pumpkin punch
This punch is as easy as mixing a few ingredients together then serving! It really couldn’t be simpler, but I’ve included step by step instructions below for people who like visuals!
1 – Make the Jello
Combine the orange jello powder with the boiling water in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Stir until the powder has completely dissolved.
2 – Add the other ingredients
Once the Jello powder has completely dissolved, immediately add the cold water, sugar, frozen limeade, and pineapple juice.
Stir everything together then chill until just before you’re ready to serve.
3 – Add Sprite
Right before you’re ready to serve, add a bottle of chilled Sprite to the punch.
It’s now ready to serve on its own or you can also add 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream to the punch as well if you want that creamsicle flavor I was talking about!
4 – Serve
Now that the punch is complete, you can serve it in regular glasses or get clear glasses that you add jack-o-lantern faces too (or just buy these already decorated glasses) to make this one of the best Halloween party ideas!
Expert Tips & Storage Information
Wait until last minute to add the Sprite so it doesn’t go flat too soon.
Have pre-scooped vanilla ice cream scoops out for people that want to add it to their glass if they want – that way you can have the punch on its own or the orange ice cream punch option too!
Store any leftovers in a covered pitcher in the fridge for up to three days. The ice cream will melt and the Sprite will likely go flat, but it’ll still taste yummy!
