Monster Halloween Games for Adults
A couple of weeks ago I had my family come over to brainstorm ideas for Halloween games. They came up with all sorts of ideas but one theme that kept running through the suggestions was Halloween monsters.
My dad kept mentioning the original Halloween monsters – Frankenstein, Werewolf, etc. and I loved the idea of using those in some games.
The only problem? A lot of kids don’t actually know many of the original monsters and original monster movies. Don’t know which movies are the classic monsters? This blu-ray collection has all of them in one place!
So I’m calling these monster Halloween games for adults. You could also play any of these black and white party games with a Halloween twist but try these first!
I’ve included three different game ideas all with various options for matching monsters in some way. Play these games and serve mini monster rolls or pumpkin pizzas for one fantastic night!
Monster Match: Charades Edition
I have an entire post all about Halloween charades and various types of Halloween charades but this one is a little different.
Instead of playing normal charades, play a monster match version of charades. I’ve put together a set of clues that are all Monster movies.
Just like in regular charades, cut out the cards and put them in a bucket. Have the first person pull out a movie from the bucket but instead of doing anything to get them to guess the movie – they have to act out a monster that stars in the movie.
For instance, act out Jack Skellington or Oogie Boogie to get them to guess Nightmare Before Christmas. Act out the monster, guess the movie.
You could also do this with fun Halloween songs or just play this Halloween name that tune game instead!
Monster Match: Couples Edition
This one is a great way to get people up and mingling. I’ve put together a PDF list with Halloween “couples” on it. And there are actually two different ways you could play. Take the couples and write them on name tag stickers like these.
When people get to the party, have them take one of the Halloween name tags and tape it on their back without looking at it. They then have to go out and mingle and talk to people to try and find their matching couple, without knowing who they are.
If that seems a little tough (Halloween party games for adults remember!) then you could allow them to see who they are and have to go find their monster match.
Be forewarned the couples are a bit of a stretch but they definitely go together. They just might not be traditional “couples,” and more pairs from movies or people I think go together. They should be easy enough for people to figure out regardless.
Can you guess who goes with Frankenstein? This one should be pretty easy.
Monster Match: Movie Edition
I mentioned it already but a lot of the original monsters had movies made about them. And so did a lot of not original monsters, but that’s a whole different thing.
In this version of monster match, players have to try to match the monster listed on the left hand side with the actor who played the monster in the ORIGINAL version of the movie.
Some of these movies are rated R, sorry! That’s why these are Halloween games for adults only and not kids. Need Halloween games for kids – I’ve got plenty of those!
Don’t know who the right answer is? Guess. No using a friend, phone, or any other cheats.
Once everyone has finished their sheet, go through the answers together.
The person with the most matched correctly wins. I’ve got some Halloween prize ideas down below that are perfect for adults!
Prizes for Adult Halloween Games
Since adults aren’t going to want things like stickers and the other prizes I have listed for this Halloween bingo game, I’ve put together some ideas that I think would actually work as prizes for Halloween party games for adults! I mean I’d love to win any of these at least!
All of these are under $25, which I think is ideal for the printable game. No need to do prizes for the first two games unless you really want to!
- Classic monster movies collection
- Movie themed gift basket (I love this idea)
- Halloween treat prize pack
- Halloween bath bombs (these are SO cool)
- Halloween earrings (perfect for a girls night game)
- Halloween monster socks
- Spooky spa kit
- Halloween adult coloring book
- Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters Board Game
