- Lavender candy melts – I used lavender but you can use whatever colors you’d like.
- Straws or lollipop sticks – you can also use a wooden skewer or omit the stick all together, but these are really fun to eat off sticks!
- Fruit Loops – any round cereal will work or you can pipe on the mouth with candy melt. I just liked using the purple ones for the mouths!
- Candy eyes – make sure you’re getting the regular size candy eyes and not the jumbo ones!
How to make octopus pops
These pops are as simple as assembling, dipping, and decorating. Keep reading to get all the details on how to make these cute creatures.
1 – Prep the Marshmallows
- Start by lining a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper to keep the candy melts from sticking to the sheet.
- Take one of the marshmallows and push it onto a lollipop stick or a straw. Use a twisting motion as you push the marshmallow onto the stick or straw to help it go on easier. Lay the marshmallow on the stick onto the prepared baking sheet.
2 – Dip In Candy Melts
- Add candy melts and coconut oil to a medium size microwave safe bowl. Heat in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between the increments, until the chocolate is fully melted. Be careful not to overcook the candy melts!
- Dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate then put each pretzel onto the wax paper to let them dry.
- Arrange the eight sticks into a circle on the baking sheet so the pretzels look like a sunburst. Then drop a small amount of melted chocolate into the middle of the eight pretzel sticks to hold them together.
- Dip the marshmallow into the candy melts to cover it completely. Let any excess candy melt drip into the bowl.
- While the chocolate on the marshmallow is still wet, add the candy eyes and the fruit loop onto the marshmallow then put the marshmallow onto the center of the eight pretzel sticks.
3 – Finish And Serve
- Let the candy melts dry completely then serve on a blue tray for an underwater feel!
Tips & tricks
