This roll a Christmas tree dice game is a fun dice game for kids to play during the holiday season, like this roll a unicorn one works for birthdays. It goes great with these Christmas activities for families.
And it’s great for parents (and class moms) because it’s super simple to setup, play, AND clean up!
Roll a Christmas Tree Game Supplies
One of the best things about this game is that you really don’t need much at all!
- Roll a Christmas tree playing cards – get the free printable at the bottom of this post
- Die – one die per person playing. These Christmas colored dice would be fun!
- Prizes – I have a list of fun prize ideas at the bottom of this post if you want to do prizes
Setup Your Christmas Tree Dice Game
It’s super simple to setup your game – just a few steps before everyone can play!
1 – Print out your playing cards.
Download the PDF file at the bottom of this post with the Christmas tree image and the embellishment images. There will be a number of pages of embellishments – things like presents, garlands, and ornaments.
If you’re playing with multiple people, make sure to print out one tree card for everyone. People can share the embellishments and the dice key.
2 – Cut out your embellishments.
Cut out the pages of embellishments. You can either get really close with the cuts or just cut around them in circles, squares, etc.
It’s still fun no matter how perfect your cutting is.
3 – Give everyone a die and a Christmas tree.
Make sure everyone has their own Christmas tree and die. And make sure they have access to all of the Christmas decorations and embellishments to put on their tree.
And finally, make sure they can see the dice cheat sheet. It might be fun to blow it up like I did for this dice gift exchange game so everyone can for sure see it!
How to Play this Roll A Christmas Tree Game
Playing this roll a tree game is so easy! Just as easy as playing this roll a rainbow game or this roll a jack o lantern one!
When you say go, everyone rolls their die. They decorate their Christmas tree with the item that corresponds with the number they roll.
So for instance, if they roll a four they would put a garland on the tree. If they roll a six, they would add a present to the tree.
How to Win
Keep playing until you’ve rolled all six of the numbers and finished the Christmas tree. First one to get all six on wins – or just have everyone who finishes win! That’s what we did with this roll a dinosaur game!
Or as an alternate, you could just keep playing and decorate it with all of the decorations and ornaments. That works better if you have just one or two kids playing but it’s a fun way to do it as well!
That’s what I did with my kiddo, and he loved it!
When you’re done, clear of the tree and play again!
